Denmark Expert Workshop: EV Charging Infrastructure

On March 24, 2025, a focus group discussion was held in Denmark with 7 expert participants to explore key aspects of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The session began with a welcome, practical information, and participant introductions, followed by a presentation of survey results — based on responses from 700 citizens out of 4,000 randomly selected. Discussions covered the number and placement of charging stations, accessibility and quality, and emerging technologies.

Key reflections included:

  • Insufficient number of chargers, especially fast chargers, in both towns and villages.
  • Strong demand for charging points at apartment buildings, retail areas, major traffic hubs, and villages.
  • Good overall accessibility, but charging with caravans or trailers is not possible; hardware quality is good despite occasional downtime and software issues.
  • Need for more energy flexibility and further testing of new solutions.
  • Broad support for new technologies, though questions remain about battery warranties, guidelines, and risks.
